LIFTING READING SKILLS!

OUR LEARNING FOCUS:   LIFTING COMPREHENSION 
Retelling a text in sequence
Unpacking vocabulary meanings by using textual and visual cues
Asking questions about what we read.

We LEARN to READ and UNDERSTAND by..

Reading with, to and by
Talking A LOT about the text
Having QUALITY THINKING and PROCESSING time.
Asking lots of questions
Using clues in the text and picture or knowledge of letter/blend/vowel sounds and chunks to solve 'tricky words'
TAKING RISKS - Giving it a GO!
COOPERATING, PROBLEM SOLVING and showing RECIPROCITY together.

We can all be TEACHERS and LEARN from EACHOTHER!

SUCCESS CRITERIA: I CAN
Put the sentences into the order that they happened

The dog went

 A long the road

Round the tree

Into the park

After the ducks

Over the bridge

Through the flowers

Under the fence

Back Home

Success Criteria:  I  CAN

Use pictures or key words within sentences to help me comprehend or understand.

Choose ‘T’ for true or ‘F’ for false

                        The dog went up the tree.

                        The dog went  through the flowers.

                        The dog was under the bridge.

                        The boy was tired when he got home.

                        The dog was being naughty.

                        The boy likes taking his dog for walks.

                        Next time the boy should take an adult with him.
