The Icky Sticky Anteater
Narrative Retell
It was a beautiful morning. There was a frog and a fly. The frog was hungry so the frog ate the
fly. The frog went, ‘Woop!’ Out came his tongue so sticky and long.
Next came along a beetle eating a
leaf. “Woop!” out came his tongue so
sticky and long. And the beetle was gone!
He ate the beetle like he ate the fly.
Frog eyed a grasshopper hopping around. Then he said, “Shhhh!” Out came his tongue
so sticky and long. Frog swallowed. Gulp!
The grasshopper was gone!
He found a colourful butterfly. But guess what…..
A big golden fish gobbled the frog. GULP!
Then the frog was gone!
The butterfly was safe and sound.
